KPN Telecom

KPN Telecom, Holland

- one of the biggest telecommunication companies in Benelux and a part of KPN International Eurorings. KPN Telecom has to deal with a lot of cable drawings.

All old drawings are kept in raster, so KPN wanted software capable of the following:

  • Selecting entities on Raster as easily as possible
  • Have various raster tools (rotating grid, ortho mode, etc.) allowing them to construct new cables gates
  • Save all information in various raster formats
  • Take into account specialized KPN working standards

The sale of the first 120 Consistent Software licenses was a part of the European tender from KPN Telecom, for the installation of a complete system that manages and controls all of the 280.000 drawings in a digital format. 4 companies from a tender list were asked to demonstrate the solution, 3 of them offered Spotlight (predecessor of WiseImage for Windows) as a part of the solution. Finally Intergraph got the job.

Spotlight was chosen, because it has all of the functions required and Consistent Software offered customisation for KPN, like special arrow markers.

Today KPN Telecom is using 140 licences of Spotlight for cable management.
