CSoft (Consistent Software) Launches PlanTracer 2.0
24 December, 2005. Lillestrøm, Norway. CSoft (Consistent Software), the world's leading raster-vector graphics software developer, today announced the release of PlanTracer 2.0 for AutoCAD.
Integration of existing drawing archives with computer-aided Facilities Management systems requires an efficient technology to convert and capture FM-related data from original building drawings. For that purpose PlanTracer was created.
To keep FM data up-to-date through a simple process is the background for PlanTracer 2.0 development. PlanTracer 2.0 is focused on efficiency and usability. It provides an API with two-way interface to all objects of floor-plan model. A Facilities Management solution can integrate PlanTracer 2.0 as a graphical front-end. PlanTracer will recognize a floor plan automatically, extract FM data and create "Intelligent Objects" from vectors or raster drawings. These objects will contain all data needed for your FM solution.
PlanTracer 2.0 for AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT main features:
- AutoCAD 2006/AutoCAD LT 2006 compatible
- Automatic and semi-automatic conversion of 2D-vector, raster images and sketches into an intelligent model containing user-defined objects like walls, columns, windows, doors, furniture items, sanitary equipment units, and more
- A floor model obtainable by initial plan recognition or by drawing and editing of floor plan objects with PlanTracer tools
- Recognition of texts in semi-automatic mode
- Processing of scanned raster images and sketches into vectors with the ImageEnabler module or with professional graphics editing and raster-to-vector conversion application WiseImage Pro (sold separately)
- PlanTracer can apply the existing symbol library for furniture and equipment recognition
- PlanTracer provides rooms and apartment's recognition and editing module to create objects hierarchy with rooms' attributes such as number, area, etc. Each object has its unique ID for access from an external database.
- Editing of objects' geometry and properties
- Integration with other applications via the COM-interface (MS Excel, MS Access, external applications)
- Data capturing for computer-aided FM systems in automatic and semi-automatic mode with room definition and inventory data collection
