Consistent Software Announces PlanTracer, compatible with AutoCAD/ADT 2004
May, 2003. Lillestrøm, Norway. A new and revolutionary tool that converts 2D vector and scanned plans into 3D models is now available for new 2004 platforms!
Consistent Software, the worlds leading hybrid (raster/vector) graphics software developer, today announced the upcoming release of PlanTracer 1.2 for AutoCAD/ADT 2004. PlanTracer will be supplied in two specialized versions, one for Autodesk Architectural Desktop (ADT) targeting architects, and another for the FM design and modeling of buildings, built around AutoCAD.
PlanTracer is the first solution on the market for ADT that converts 2D floor plans into 3D ADT models with just one push of a button. It uses source data from DXF and DWG and other 2D CAD files, as well as scanned sketches and drawings. PlanTracer 1.2 for ADT 3.3/2004 will be supplied with a printable Quick Start Guide and an installation CD with a full set of necessary information to become an experience user of PlanTracer in hours; step-by-step tutorial, FAQ, samples, 'tips and tricks' and so on.
The conversion of 2D-drawings into an intelligent model is based on the unique algorithms that enable recognition of arbitrary objects by searching and recognizing patterns in 2D plans.
As an ADT application, PlanTracer bridges the gap between an AEC model of a building and vector/raster data provided by any 2D drawing system quick and easy. The one-click conversion eliminates the lengthy process of manual data entry, multiplying your efficiency in this phase. With this ADT add-on, representations of 2D elements on floor plans - lines, polylines, arcs, and circles can be converted to walls, windows, doors and furniture ADT objects in an automatic and semi-automatic mode.
Using PlanTracer for AutoCAD, you can in addition also create and edit new floor plans containing walls, doors, windows, columns and other objects (created by PlanTracer). Moreover you can form rooms and apartments on the converted plan and control their parameters from another application, as well as integrate PlanTracer into a FM system.
What's new in PlanTracer 1.2
- A new recognition method is now available.
- The sketch mode is specially designed for hand drawn floor plans.
- A new mathematical algorithm will help to neglect divergence in the objects' geometry, and a special built-in procedure will make the walls align correctly.
PlanTracer Benefits
- Ability to convert 2D CAD drawings, raster images and even sketches into models quickly and "intelligently"
- Unique conversion algorithms
- Improved turnaround time for floor data extraction
- Easy to learn and use
- Capable of using existing or generated symbol libraries
- Open architecture for system integrators and third-party developers (FM version)
Availability
PlanTracer is currently available from Consistent Software Distributors worldwide in international English, German, Italian, French, Russian and Spanish.
